Attention to detail that makes the Smart Living Steam Mop so easy to use
Simply fill the Smart Living Steam Mop with water, place the micro-fibre pad on the floor and attach it with the Velcro. The non-pressurised tank allows you to add more water as you go. And the Smart Living Steam Mops handle can be shortened to use on bathroom walls and shower screens. When done simply pop the micro-fibre pad in the washing machine for next time.

FAQs
Q:How
long do the mop pads last?
A:Each
pad
can be washed in the washing machine over 200 times, with average
domestic
it should last you at least 2 years.
Q:If the pads last 2
years, why would I need to get extras. Can't I just wash these and reuse them?
A:This
depends
on the size of your house. Your mop will work most effectively if you
keep moving on to clean and dry pads. When you see streaks of either
water or
dirt, then your pads are either too dirty or wet and need changing. This
is
particularly important if your floor is water sensitive or, in the case
of some
ceramic tiles, highly polished. So if you have a larger house you may
need more
than one pad to do the whole house in one sitting. Also, you may like to
keep
spares in case your pad/s are in with the dirty laundry at the time you
want to
use it.
Q:Will
it clean the grout between the tiles?
A: Yes,
where ever the pad touches it will clean. However, if
the grout is recessed and very narrow, you may need an appliance with a
nozzle,
but generally repeated mopping will remove any grease and grime as the
steam
gets deep into grout to break it down.
Q. Can I do my
curtains?
A. The
mop is not designed to work upside down, but it will
deodorize and sanitise your drapes just be sure to use it horizontally.
Be
aware you will need to vacuum the drapes first to remove dust and dirt
which
when combined with the steam could turn to mud. Also air your curtains
thoroughly
to
deter mildew.
Q:Will the steam lift
the glue on laminates/tiles/vinyl?
A:
The Smart Living Steam Mop was designed for domestic floors and uses a
domestic
heat level; it should not affect the glue under your flooring surface.
However,
we always recommend you adhere to the manufacturer’s specifications, and
never
leave the mop in the one spot for more than 8 seconds at any time.
Stubborn stains
respond best to repeated moppings rather than a prolonged scrub, so do a
little
every day until the stain is gone if it is taking too long.
Q. How does it work
on slate and other uneven floor surfaces?
A. The
steam will shoot down quite a way breaking down grease
and grime and the pad will pick up any residue. However, if you feel the
grooves
in your floor are too deep then try using two pads at the same time.
This doesn’t
affect the flow of steam, but has the added advantage of being deeper to
get
right into those grooves.
Q:What about tiles with
a sharp edge?
A:Again,
two
pads works well in this scenario.
Q. Can any oils/disinfectants
be used with it?
A. Nothing
but water must EVER be used in the tank. The steam
produced is more than adequate to disinfect, deodorize and sanitize your
flooring surfaces, in fact major hospitals and commercial kitchens clean
with pure
steam. However, if you prefer a particular aroma such as lavender,
citrus or
eucalyptus then put a little in a spray bottle and spray on the floor
before
mopping. The heat has the effect of greatly intensifying the properties
of the
oils.
Q:I have turned on my
mop and it’s making a noise but no steam is coming out. What do I do?
A:This
is
caused by an air lock in the water tubes which can happen to a brand
new mop
from the quality control process or to your existing mop from it
standing with
water left in the tank. To remove an air lock simply press the "on"
pedal for steam and while holding horizontally quickly swing the handle
up and
down. If this doesn’t do the trick give our customer service team a
call, we
will be happy to help.
Q:I have water sensitive
floors and I am finding sometimes the mop leaves streak marks. How can I
prevent this?
A:You
may
need to put a fresh mop pad on as the one you are using is possibly too
wet
or dirty. Also here is a useful tip; once you have depressed pedal to
"off",
keep on mopping until all residual steam ceases. Then, with a sweeping
motion,
sweep the mop off the floor. This eliminates the "sweat mark" sometimes
left behind that can cause streaks.
Q:Once I have spot
cleaned a section of my carpet how do I raise the carpet pile again?
A:Simply
put
the carpet glider back on and go over that area again to raise the pile
in
that area. This ensures your carpet will dry with uniform length.
